My solidarity is with all the human rights groups and organisations in Turkey. I stand with those demanding the right of assembly, the right of free speech, the right not to be imprisoned without trial, and the right of journalists to go about their work in a free and democratic manner.
Jeremy Corbyn
Former Member of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe – UK
I want to remind everyone of 15-year-old Sumeyra, who died while her mother, a former physics teacher, was jailed in Turkey on unfounded accusations. Sumeyra was found dead in her home due to an over-stress-related illness. Her death reminds us human cost of Turkey’s post-coup persecutions, particularly the suffering of children left behind when parents are imprisoned on political grounds.
Laura CASTEL
Member of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe – SPAIN
Our message to our brothers and sisters in Türkiye is clear. We have not forgotten you, we will not forget you, and we will not let you be forgotten. We are here for all victims of state repression in Türkiye, regardless of their religion, language, ethnicity, or background.
